Subject: Committee Reporting Schedules

Dear Committee Members:
Please be advised that the schedule for regular MHA Board Meetings is as follows:
1.) Sun July 15, 8:00 pm EST
2.) Sun Oct 21, 8:00 pm EST
3.) Sun Jan 20, 8:00 pm EST
4.) Wildacres (also, general membership meeting)
If your committee has any requests to make of the
Board, such as policy motions or funding
requests, your committee chair or secretary should do
so in writing, at least 2 weeks prior to a Board meeting.
This will allow Board members time to add it to the agenda
and to consult before the meeting. In order to keep Board meetings
to a reasonable length, last minute requests can not be considered
unless there has been prior discussion.
The Board requests that each committee decide on a
schedule for communicating with the MHA membership.
At minimum, this should be an annual report to
the AGM (annual general meeting).
At the other end, committees could choose to
report quarterly, 2 weeks before each Board
meeting. The deadlines for quarterly reports would therefore be:
1.) Sun July 1
2.) Sun Oct 7
3.) Sun Jan 6
4.) Wildacres (also, general membership meeting)
This way, the Board would have an opportunity to
study the reports and flag any issues that should
be brought up for Board discussion at the regular
quarterly Board meeting. Each committee could
choose to report to the Board privately, or
otherwise its report would simultaneously get
posted on the Committee page in the Members
Lounge. In other words, committees can choose to
report to the Board, or to the membership at
their discretion.
The Board requests that your committee(s) establish
a communication goal, so that the membership will receive
regular reports on committee activities. We can then
post the committee communication schedule along with your
committee reports and other
information on the MHA Committee Page
